10/52

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week in 2013.

10/52 You've always got your sister...

There is a four year age gap between That and This Baby. Some were sceptical, saying there'd be jealousy and unhappiness if a child was forced to share focus after having her parent's sole attention for so long. How wrong they were. Instant friends. That Baby shows patience I didn't know she was capable of. She's so sweet with her baby sister, explaining the world to her in whispered tones and telling her not to be afraid.

  2. Awwwl I'm totally blubbing at this. I think an age gap is better, my sister and I were so close we were treated like twins and we ended up resenting each other for years! Having our own children and hard times brought us together. I hope that one day I can give Little Miss a sibling but not until she's older

    1. I've really appreciated the gap between them. Though its horses for courses isn't it? I'm sure if they were closer in age I would have loved that too. Glad you and your sister are close now, I always wanted a sister myself xx

  3. That is so sweet! What an adorable pair. My two fight constantly. We have to keep them apart when possible. ;)

    1. Oh that's lovely Sharlene, congratulations! I suppose everyone says it, but I really love the age gap between them. I can reason with my oldest and explain that Mummy is busy with the baby right now, but I will be along to make juice/find colouring pens/change channels in a moment. It's very handy!

    1. Why do people do that? You leave a gap and you're interrogated about whether you're planning more, or worse still, why you've left a gap! Grrrrr.... I've loved having the space between them, it's meant I could really appreciate them both :)

  7. So very sweet.
There is an 18 year gap between my first and last.
People are always confused when they see my biggest boy with youngest.

    Have a beautiful week.
