Wondering: if it's time to take up a frivolous ME hobby. I've started to feel a bit dull when people ask what my interests are, "Erm, child rearing, watching telly" not exactly terribly interesting stuff. I wonder what I fancy though.....
Loathing: sick bugs. Mr Husband now has one. In addition I am loathing constantly cleaning, disinfecting and dealing with all the jobs on my own. Ugh. I am a selfish bag I know. I hope he feels better soon.
Cooking: chicken soup. Feeding the sick. It's what you're meant to do isn't it?
Reading: a friend once told me that one of the reasons she loves her Kindle is because she can read stuff that isn't exactly clever or impressive and nobody needs to know! Ha! I am terrible for trying to get a sneaky peek at what others are reading on the bus, train or in a coffee shop, but I don't have the slightest care about someone checking out my reading choices and thinking I'm peculiar. At the moment I am proud to be reading: Broadmoor Revealed: Victorian Crime and the Lunatic Asylum. Fascinating. I might be a bit of a geek...
Listening: To Trevor Moss & Hannah Lou. STILL. It's been the only thing I want to hear for an age now. Just so beautiful, totally in love with their harmonies.
Next week: Loving, Dreaming, Admiring, Kissing, Gifting....

Blogging, gardening and research into Victorian prisonlife are pretty impressive interests to add to child rearing and telly watching! Hope everyone is well soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you Caz! I'd hadn't thought of it like that, ha yeah, impressive! :) x
DeleteI don't do much more than working, childrearing and watching TV. bit of blogging too...
ReplyDeleteI try and do as little as humanly possible if truth be told! ;) x
DeleteSick bugs haven't hit our house yet (touch wood) but seems everyone in my eldest's school is being off so I'm dreading waiting around for it. I'm always nosey at people on the bus too, it always seems to be in ny line of sight whatever they are reading x
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't get you Rhiannon! The sick bugs, not the people at the bus stop.... ;) x
DeleteBabies being sick is the worst thing ever! My little one had that awful one over Christmas (the nuro thing) and she projectile vomited three times. It was my first time dealing with real sick as I don't think sick up is the same thing! Just awful!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for feeling like that, it's such a crap job but us mummies have to do it! Boo.

Oh, poor little tot! Sick is a tricky one isn't it? It's just so, erm, sicky. Ugh, the aroma! Still, I wouldn't change my Mummy job for all the tea in China (and I'm sure you wouldn't either) so I shouldn't complain I know :)
DeleteOh, poor you having to deal with all the sicky sickness :-( I kinda know what your friend means about a kindle tho, but I love mine for other reasons! I think because I'm constantly reading thing that aren't for my own enjoyment (I'm an English teacher) the kindle is all about meeee and my choices! I've read so many books on it since receiving it at Xmas whereas before I felt oddly guilty about lugging around my own books when there were so many class texts and essays I should be lugging around instead! Is that weird? I think it might be. Anyway! Good luck with all the chicken soup!xx
ReplyDeleteYeah, I do get where she's coming from, I think I've just got no shame! I think it's lovely that yours is just for you, we all need a little of that sometimes! :) xx
DeleteChicken soup is the best for when you're sick, hope you're ok :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, thank you Heidi! I think we're over the worst, pretty much entirely down to my soup I think ;)
DeleteEw this illness at the moment is a right pain. Hope you and Mr Husband get well soon x Olwyn

Thank you Olwyn! Just been visiting your blog - love it! :) xx
DeleteChicken soup? Nope, never made it for my own sick children- you beat me hands down in the caring mother category. Hope everyone gets better soooooon! Also, that book sounds intriguing. And freaky. But definitely interesting! Add that to your interests list for sure ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about that! I think it has more to do with being too mean to even throw the chicken bones away! :) xx
DeleteI always list blogging as my top hobby (on top of working and baby raising of course) and also my top social activity so you have nothing to sneeze at it sounds like you're plenty busy... but I hear you on looking for something new. I wonder what you'll fancy? AND I don't care if it's sexist to say it but a sick husband is a pathetic sad worthless bag of bones. You don't sound selfish, I die inside every time Rob starts to act sick... AND Your reading choice sounds awesome as does your soup, lady! xo
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh, thank you Lindsey, you are fabulous, did you know that? You have no idea how glad I am that it's not just me that thinks that way about ill men. Poorly husbands are the worst, I really would make a shocking nurse. And I think you're right about adding blogging as an interest, I suppose I felt like I hadn't been doing it long enough to justify mentioning it, but that's silly right?
DeleteHey new follower here! I have got to check out that book you're reading! Sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! Thank you so much for following! I'm now following you back. I love the name of your blog - Ooooh and congratulations!!! Not long til May, I love a newborn!
